10 gallons per pygmy.
DONT pay over $10-$15 dollars for a wild caught animal.. $20-25 is a good price for captive bred.

aquarium backgrounds work well to close in all the sides of the tank.. other then that, get creative.. cork bark does well as does a lotof the driftwood that petco and petsmart sells ( NOT grapevine..... if kept too damp it can take weeks to get the mold to die off )..

good luck!

good sites to check out for availability:
kingsnake.com
faunaclassifieds.com
FLchams.com

as far as food goes? then yes ,it *should* be fine, providing that you have a healthy animal..

i would plan on housing food items, usually a weeks worth at a time, this way you wont run out unexpectedly.

if it is a hatchling - juvenile, they will most likely require a feeding every day.

an adult will require a feeding every other day to every third day.

 Bearded Pygmy

you cant really over feed b/c they wont eat of they are not hungry

but remember to never leave crickets in there for a long period of time or they can bite your pygmies

they will eat as much as they can handle at one time and be fine..

but if their prey items are too large, then they may become impacted and could possibly die..

prey items should never be larger then the space between their eyes.. so pin head crickets are about as large as you could go fro an adult pygmy..
