Update on baby cham!Jr and Jenny Excellent on the screen cage! Temps are perfect. How old are they? Do you have your UVB light and supplements because without them the chams will get a deadly disease called MBD-metabolic bone disorder. There are many posts on this forum of people who’s chams died from it ’cuz they were not aware.
I am sure they are getting used to their new cage, but babies will rarely turn down a meal. Are the crickets the right size?

Usually if one is not eating it could be due to the other one stressing it out. Chams are always housed separately after they are a few months old.

There about 4 weeks old i am getting a uvb light today 50-75watt and the cricket size is small because i bought these at a reptile show and the person selling them gave him a medium one and it chocked so i got small and jr. has not chocked on them yet and jenny has not been eating 3or 4 weeks from now i can feed them meal worms!.

Update on baby cham!Jr and Jenny 1 month is very, very young. If the cage is too big they will not find their food. Temps are critical at this age and they will be hard to sustain if your cage is too big. You can’t get them too hot or they will cook, and too cold will cause them to not eat. Make sure you have a good digital thermometer with a probe so you KNOW what your temps are-guessing will not be good enough. The light you need is a Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 linear flourescent tube-Compact are know to cause blindness and death. The basking bulb can be a regular house bulb in a wattage strong enough to keep the temps where you want them. Here is picture of a cage setup. In the white fixture is the UVB and in the clamp lamp is a house light bulb. There is a live plant, a fake vine and a fake plant. You can put as many plants as you like so the chams can hide. Nothing on the bottom.

Update on baby cham!Jr and Jenny Also, here are the supplements you will need. Not supplementing them correctly will kill them. I use the Calcium without D3 5 times a week, and the one with D3 2 times a month, and for babies Herptivite 2 times a month. Never any 2 at the same time and very lightly dusted-no shake n bake!

Update on baby cham!Jr and Jenny Meal worms are not a good food for chams. They are high in fat and low in nutrition. Silkworms and Superworms are better choies. 1 month old chams can eat 10-20 little crickets in a day.
