 New addition :)

Just wanted to share a poor photo of my newest addition. Adult male Quadricornis. He’s just going into a shed so he’ll brighten up a bit in a few days. He’s got some nice blue going, but didn’t want to stress him with close-ups.

:) Thanks jdb.
Actually, my chams don’t seem to mind nice warm water. I think the temperature of the water is the key. They HATE cold water, and they do get wet when the auto misters go off, but since they don’t move away from the warm water, I don’t think it harms or stresses them.

Julirs ... my older Quad was WC when I got him, you can see the scar of what looks to me like a cham bite right on his little leg and he had some other battle scars as well, poor guy.

What I find interesting is the difference in their colorations. Quadzimoto (my old guy) has always had a good amount of maroon and yellow on his head & horns and a deep green body, with less blue. The new guy (CB) has no maroon or yellow at all, a good amount of blue and so far, a much lighter green body.
I don’t really know the difference in their ages, as Quadzi was also already adult when I got him.
Gotta love this face, though :)

All chams hate cold water, at least in my experience. Think of their natural habitat and think rain. Veileds and Panthers are a tropical species. In the wild, their rain is warm, their drinking water is warm.

And no, I don’t purposely spray my chams. They do get misted when my auto misters go off, but the water from the reservoir is warm, not cold, so it doesn’t seem to bother them.
