 Female veiled egg laying

Just wondering the best way to care for a female thats ready to lay eggs (infertile) and if their is a way to prevent it. Thanks.

She should already have easy access to a suitable egg laying box before she’s ready to lay. That’s the #1 best way to care for a female ready to lay eggs, whether fertile or infertile.

Make sure she gets plenty of water and if she’s ready to lay now, it’s a little late, but females should always get a little extra calcium when they become gravid. Phoenix worms are a great way to add calcium without the fear of oversupplementing via dust.

There is no way to prevent her from laying. What you can do is make sure not to overfeed. Overfed females tend to cycle eggs more frequently and lay larger clutches. Frequent cycling and large clutches impact a female’s overall health and longevity, so keeping her lean (not starved) is recommended.
