Fiberboard is it ok for cage backing

Just wondering if anyone knows if Fiberboard would be ok to use as a back to a cage. It will eventually be completely covered by foam.

If not, does anyone have any ideas for a thin rigid non-toxic backing? As was previously stated, it wont be visible as it will be covered.

As a note, I believe what I was hoping to use is hardboard (A version of fiberboard). It is very thin (1/8") and strong. Has a nice smooth shiny side and a textured backside.

One last follow up. ( I am having a hard time explaining what I am trying to use) -- the wood I bought seems to be about the same material as peg board is made of.

Well I talked with the guy from home depot and he basically stated that no bards are made with Formaldehyde resin anymore. He said that a law passed in California 5 years back made everyone change away from using Formaldehyde.
