 Breeding size for bulls?

Well, the title says it all. How big do these guys have to be? I know they get big, so I’m thinking the three foot rule might not be correct for these guys. I have a pair between 2-3 feet, but they’re only six months. Is it age, weight, size or a combo? Thanks!

Generally the female should be at least three years old. The male can be two years old. They should be adult size, at least four feet long or bigger.

My mother and daughter ( hypo is daughter)

Father and mother last spring, in their third year.

They mated at two years of age in 2011 and produced the big hypo. That was a surprise clutch of five babies as I didn’t expect them to breed that young. Everything worked out okay but I think three years old is better. Their second clutch in their third year produced 11 babies! The eggs are big, and it is quite an effort for the female to produce them.
