 Pine snake wont eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a northern pine snake, she is about 1 1/2 years old. She last ate on 10/17, I have tried feeding her over and over again. I feed my snake frozen thawed, and today I tried live. She only striked at it once and nothing. I know pines are known for stop eating for a while, and they also eat like pigs. When I first got her she was eating fine, what should I do? Alss her not eating isn’t affecting her at all. She is the same thickness as she was when I bought her.

This going off feed in the fall is perfectly normal for pituophis species. Since she has not eaten for almost a month, just turn down the heat and let her rest for the winter. Around February or March she should commence feeding again.

I have 3 Pines myself. One thing I notice is that when they start to go blue, even before the cloudy looking eyes and skin shows up physically, alot of time they will go off feed until they shed. So keep an eye out for that too as yours may wind up with some cloudy looking eyes in the next few days possibly. During this time they stay hidden 24/7 mostly and I wont see them until after they finish. Once they are done they are back to being pigs.

Alright, thanks. I was thinking of putting her into brumation for three months. Maybe thats what she wants to do.

My gopher (or as you call them, "pines" ) is a frequent eater. He was wild caught, and we live just a few blocks from where he was picked up. Perhaps they are all different and unpredictable.

Oh she is brumation rite now, everything is fine. Pines are different then gophers, they aren’t the same.

All pituophis species , temperate zone, like to go off feed in the winter months. In that way they are similar.
I have only one female Pacific gopher eating now. All the rest of my 7 pituophis (Pacifics and bulls) are brumating.

There is always one odd ball in every group! LOL! Zola is mine:

Zola out looking for seconds in fuzzies.

"where IS it!"

"Well, phooey!"
She will eat herself sick so only gets small meals every few days. Lately she is getting fed in the little cup so she can go back into her warm hide right away after eating. She checks that cup frequently.
Her mate is buried in the aspen; he could care less about eating until spring.

She is really pretty. I’ll post some pictures of my snake as soon as she comes out. I really don’t want to disturb her.
