 Lighting/Heating Question

I have a 4x2x2 Enclosure that I am planning on housing a red tail in. The cage was previously used for a monitor and for this enclosure the lights are hanging from the inside. I am wondering if that is okay for the red tail? They hang from the ceiling of the cage. Would i have to make modifications to the cage and put screen on top to set the lights on instead or will they not come in contact with it. Any help would be great

This is my personal opinion, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk. It might be fine, but I wouldn’t run the risk of letting the snake cook its face.

ive seen people do this before but they usally get some 1/4 or 1/8 inch mesh and make a square cube around the light so its not in direct contact with the light its self but its always good to get more info.

Get rid of the lights and fixtures.

Boas do not need them.

UTHs or Radiant Heat Panels are the opitmal options.
