Leave her for a week...don’t pick her up or anything. After you feed your snake you need to let them digest for 48 hours before you take them out of their cage. If you just bought her LEAVE HER BE. Don’t stress her out.

I have to agree with ColdBlooded. Did you research this snake and its requirements?

What size cage?
Temps?
Humidity?
Snake size?
Cage set up?

Hmm..i don’t trust people at pet stores. Give us some information about your set up, the humidity and temps before you believe its perfect if you wouldn’t mind

OK i have a big water bowl, i have a heat rock, I have a log thats like a tunnel, and i also made an openning under the water bowl so she can go under to hide...

Temp: always about 80-85
humidity: stays at 60

The gut said thats where i wanted... Is that right?

If not please tell me where it should be and how to get it there..

Thanks for all the help.

This is exactly why you should never trust pet store people. They will tell you what ever they can to get you to buy some thing.(I once had an employee tell me the baby burm they had wouldn’t get over 6 feet and eats only pinkies). The person who sold you that snake probably doesn’t even have snakes.

First off, remove the heat rock as soon as you read this.

Boas(and snakes in general) have very poor sense of heat on their bellies. A heat rock gets WAY to hot and WILL(not might but will) burn your snake severly.

Second, the temp is fine for the cool side. However you need a way to make a heat gradient so your snake can thermoregulate. Get an under tank heater or a ceramic heat emitter and put it on one side of the cage.(on the outside of course) The warm side temps should be around 90.

Your humidity is fine where it is at now. Also how are you reading the temps and humidity? Are they dials, stick ons, or digitals?

Stick ons are crap...get a digital thermometer for each side of the cage. They don’t read the exact temperature. As mentioned, the cool side temps are fine. Get a Under tank heater for one side of the tank (put it on the bottom on the outside of the tank) which will then be your warm side. Then, leave the cool side without a under tank heater. Humidity is fine. GET THAT HEAT ROCK OUT IMMEDIATELY. Get two identical hides for each side of the cage, a water bowl which you already have and you are basically set. What type of bedding do you use?

How big is your snake? If she is just a baby..get her a completely smaller tank. That or stuff it up. Get fake branches and other things to climb on so that the enclosure is secure for her. That or completely just go and get a new cage...a 10 gallon or a 20 gallon would do fine for a young boa.
