It depends on how big you can handle... and what kind of space you have and how you can provide a boa with different needs... there are all different types. Tell me what you’re into and I can tell you what you’ll want to look into.

Well,a rosy boa would be the best beginner snake, that or a sand boa. You’d usually wanna start with something that stays fairly small and doesn’t get huge. But like Sra said, we’d need to know what you can handle first.

You can always consider a Hogg Island Boa. They are similar to red tail boas but they don’t get as big. They get about 6-7 feet.

Yep Hogg Islands are awesome little snakes. Some are a bit nippy, but you will find that will any species. You can also look into Kenyan Sand Boas, Ball Pythons, Rubber Boas, Hognosed Snakes, Garter Snakes, Children’s Pythons, Spotted Pythons, Woma Pythons (a bit pricier), Colubrids such as Milksnakes, Kingsnakes, Corn Snakes, and for some more boas, I’d recommend Nicaraguan Boas, Brazilian Rainbow Boas (if you can meet their husbandry needs they’re awesome), Columbian Rainbow Boas (very docile), Corn Island Boas, Caulker’s Cay Boas, Viper Boas... just some things to think about :)

Oh, BTW, I have a male Hogg Island and he won’t get over five feet. He’s not fully Hogg either!
