Sheds This may be a dumb quesiton, but does anyone out there keep there sheds? If you do, do you keep them for records, to track growth or what not. Also, if you do keep them, how do you keep them so that the dont get messed up. Im only asking because I thought I read of this on another website, but I can’t find it now.

Sheds I personally just throw mine out.
They streatch when the snake sheds, so its not an accurate measurement of growth.
They are handy in scale counts...but really once youve counted them, putting the number down on a piece of paper in a file is much more handy than dead skin cells hanging around the house.

Sheds i actually do keep most of mine...just cause i think they’re pretty rad things to have. sheds from my little guys (a rosy boa and king) just usally get hung off of picture frames. i’ve got one of my red tail’s sheds up on the wall of my bedroom :) before i put my red tail’s skin up anywhere i always take it in to work to show it off since you can see his pattern really well on it. and my coworkers are amazed by seeing the 7-foot sheds (more so than by getting a chance to see the actual snake haha). and they can be a fun teaching tool too, for example i always point out the spurs next to the cloaca and explain what they’re for.
i just hang them over a door or something to let them dry out before putting them anywhere. i’ve been doing this for years, they hold up pretty well. dead skin is kinda pointless to have but i think they’re neat.

Sheds I keep a few on occassion. I have used them to show other people how to do scale counts. I get quite a few neighborhood kids that come over to see the collection and I use the skins to talk about how a snake sheds, show that what a shed skin feels like, etc...
