 I dunno how this happened!!!

i woke up thursday and noticed my brb was missing!! i still havent been able to find her! i just want her home!!! i have looked everywhere and then looked again and again! i miss her! i’ve waited 7yrs to get a brb and i finally get one and 2months later shes gone... im sad...

don’t stress it. I’ve lost my snake let’s see three times now. I lost her and then found her five days later and then she got lost two days later lol. they don’t go far. just check your drawers under your clothes. between dvds or cds. She’ll turn up. just look for tight dark places.

i have and i jus cant find her... we live in a fourplex and im afraid she may have found a way to get into the neighbors hous thru the walls (nice house but it was built really crappy) and neither one of my neighbors like snakes and would pry jus kill her the moment they saw her. and living in alaska it doesnt really get dark this time o year. i have been looking around the house around 1 or 2 in the morning when she would be most active but she never seems to come out of hiding (assuming shes not dead...)

There are a couple steps that might work ...

put a mouse in a small cage, put it in the middle of the floor overnight. The snake mught come
Get a UTH and put it in the middle of the floor in a room with a hide and some security, like fake plants. Make sure it isn’t too hot for her, though. Maybe try having it underneath something low and flat.

If you have no success in one room, the next night try it in a different room. Keeping the doors shut all the time might also help prevent her from escaping into different rooms. (she might be able to go underneath doors, but at least she doesn;t see a whole huge entrance) The more places she can have access to, the better the chances of her getting hurt and/or killed.

I don’t think snakes would die that fast at all. I always seem to lose my snakes lol. You just have to look in your drawers and behind warm sports. if you have other reptiles look around their cages because of the heat. Some guy said he lines each doorway with flour so he can tell which room she goes in and then he closes that door and searches the room till he finds her. That sounds messy to me but it could work. I doubt she would leave the room that she was in to begin with. You just have to look hard and places you would never imagine. I tore my whole entire room apart one day just for my girlfriend to find her at the top of the room at the very top of a huge book case between to dvds that were right next to each other in a collection. they are clever.

I am not saying she would starve to death... there are PLENTY of things they can get into that can kill them, including something that can injure her. If you don’t find her right after an injury, it could get fatally infected. Not trying t scare you, but it could happen.

As a matter of fact, I am helping rehab a ball python right now that has several lacerations from getting out of the cage and gone missing.

Hey i have never tried this before because mine have not escaped yet but i was told to get a dead mouse rub it on the floor as a trail to a hide box on the ground with a UTH and the mouse inside and hopefully in the morning your snake will be hanging out in the hide. now i haven’t tried this but i have been told it works like a charm so good look and if you try that give me feedback I’m curious still.

i may jus have to try that... i have one frozen mouse left so what other choice do i have? but how will i know where to lead the trail from? she could be anywhere in the house. the room she was in is right next to the stairs and she could have easily gone down them... should i make two hides? one upstairs and one down?

yeah i think thats best to do two, leave the mouse in the one upstairs but what i forgot to add was slightly cut the mouse so you get a little blood enough for your snake to smell it. Good luck!

ok so i jus went to the pet store and i bought a live mouse (the snake wont actually be able to get to it tho) and i tipped the container on the side so the smell comes out more on the side and i put a big blanket over it wrinkled and bunched up so she will hopefully find a place in it to hide and stay there. the dead mouse is downstiars with plent of trails leading to it. it is laying in a small bowl that she could easily get to and again i threw a large blanket over that one too... n e thing else i should do or adjust? please lemme know! im desprate to get her back!!!

well so far nothing has worked both mice went untouched last night... i did talk to a pet store owner and she said that sometimes they can be gone for as long as 6 months! holy cow this is driving me nuts!!! i need her back! i will try the cardboard box but i cant put a live mouse in it cauz it will chew its way thru... i will find something and try again tonight... thanks yall!

Just with my experience losing snakes. Lol i suck at putting the tops back on cages. I have lost three snakes lol and they have never left the room that i lost them in. I’m telling you that you just have to search that room up and down. i would get someone to help you so they check the spots that you wouldnt think to check. I searched everything for three days straight and then someone else helped me and she found out. what a great feeling that is when you see you’re missing snake. I can’t wait to hear that you found your snake ;)

the only prob with that is the room she is in is totally bare... all that is in there is her cage princesses cage and the computer... i have gone as far as lookin in the computer itself and inside the printer... the closet doesnt have n e thing in it at all and the only other place she could hide in this room is in or around princess’s cage... which i have searched inside out sever times over.... i have put a live mouse out and severl hides with no such luck... i even have had the nighbor kid come over hoping he would look in some small places i cant get to but he couldn’t find her either... i have lost snakes before but never more that a couple hours at the most... i live in a fourplex and i just hope that there is no way she can get into the neighbors house... im sure they would kill her on the spot if they found her. i keep wandering the house in the middle of the night with a flashlight hoping to catch her slithering to another hiding spot but again with no luck... i just dunno what else i can do...

Aww im sorry to hear still no luck just went to feed my BRB and he was gone lucky the first place i looked the chair with pillows he was under a pillow found my ball there last year. but my god i paniced and yelled at the snake to calm myself down. im sorry the hides with mice are not working for you. i wish i had more idea’s for you the computer is warm im surprised he is not inside it anywhere. thx... i guess all i can do at this point is just to keep looking after it gets dark and hope she shows up... i thank you for helping me and giving me ideas i never would have thought of on my own... im still leaving the mice out every night for as long as i have to... its not just that i want her back ... its i NEED her back... i lover her so much (some ppl may find that weird but i think im safe saying that on this forum )

Very safe i have a very strong connection to all of my animals and when something gets lose its awful, iguanas are pets i just cant have anymore because i do live with other people and they are not as aware of leaving doors open and i have never had caged iguanas i have a back porch they loved so after my big boy died i replaced him with a juvi and i ended up losing him and it was awful the same day my bird died. i had no clue how to function i was so devastated. But good luck where do you live i really want to help you look i feel so bad for you. i goggled different ways on finding them didn’t come up with much other then the way i already told you and a box of live mice on the floor. did you tell your neighbors not to hurt him if they find him ?

thas another problem... were not alowed to have snakes in our houses... so if they find her i cant say n e thing... we are military and my husband could get in big trouble if they find out we have reptiles in the house... so i cant talk to the neighbors about it... its killing me knowing that too.... i keep having dream where i find her.. always in ramdom places but one of my other snakes always dies in the process... im not sure what that mean but it scares me...

Have you checked all of your enclosures in case he got his way in one. two of my old balls used to always find ways into each others tanks every time i would see one missing it would be in bonnies cage. good luck still.

YESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i found her outside in our flower bed! i dunno how the heck she got downstairs and out the door! lol but she did see the vet and is still very healthy and thank god she is still alive it has been really cold here and raining too. i am sooooo glad she is still alive! thank you all for your advice! my baby is home!
