Quote: Personally I think your looking for something to happen.
personally... i have had it happen before. and it doesnt bother me and i know not to jerk back when she bites so as i dont hurt her... btw i was showing off the snake... not the fact the i can hold her while shes eating. shes not like other brbs... shes actually really sweet and doesnt strike at everything that moves like everyone says they do. she doesnt even try. sorry a few pic had to turn a simple post into another stupid argument on this forum... |

Don’t be so defensive, and nobody was arguing. People who are as defensive as you are being right now tend to not notice anyone’s reason for saying what they are saying. Take a deep breath, think about the fact that you are holding the snake while she is trying to eat, then think about what everyone’s reaction was. We are only thinking about the health and safety of the snake. You should never hold brbs, or any snake, before or after feeding, much less while they are eating. This can be a huge stress factor on them, and it risks regurgitation. It is not good for the snake, and all we are doing is trying to let you know so your baby can be as healthy and happy as possible. Quote: btw i was showing off the snake... not the fact the i can hold her while shes eating
If you were showing us your snake, you should have taken pictures while he was in the cage, or while you were just holding her, without feeding. you would have gotten the reaction you wnted, believe me |

Safety and comfort of the snake should always be thought out before you do something. Stressing a snake like that is what usually leads to one getting biten, even tho it does not bother you, you are still effecting the snake and that is what we are trying to point out, not trying to "bash" or "flame" you husbandry .... |

I don’t think you realize how rough it is on that snake to eat in a situation like that. Imagine eating a biig meal what will last you a week, then have something push on your stomach so hard that you puke it up!!! OWW! It’s like that when they are using their bellies to hold onto you, and to eat while doing so... |

I do not even have a BRB yet and that is pretty much common sense. Tho i do have a lot of Ball pythons, but that is not the point, as reflex stated, its really hard on the pet if your holding the part where his or her food is settling, the last thing people want is their snake to regurgitate their food ... so when reflex said Quote: If you think doing the RIGHT thing to care for a snake is lame, you should NOT have a pet, especially like a brb, at all. .. i have to agree, you don’t! Snakes deserve the utter most respect and care as any other animal ... like i said in a previous statement, no one is mad we are just looking out for the snakes health. |

Quote: Man over beast
This statement is not always true ... if a l6 or 7 foot snake looks at you as food i am sure in some ways that statement can easily be flipped around, this is not a giant snake we are talking about no .. but never the less a small one either ... i know on a full grown burmese on pred mode that statement can easily become false ... the beast can overtake the man or woman .. whichever be the case .. |
