Updated Caging - New Boas - Old Boas (Hardcore DUW Warning. Lots of Pics)

Well, we finally got everything taken care of by way of the new caging system, the boas are all cleared health wise and settling nicely. We still have a few things we want to do, namely cutting out holes for framed vents on the sides. I already know how we’re going to do it, we just need time to do it.

Anyway, here is the before photo of the caging system we picked up from Shawn.

These are them afterward. We have painted them, added puck lighting on the ceiling of each hole and wired them to individual switches on the sides, mounted the doors with hinges. All the wiring has been transfered, in some way, shape or form, to the back. The thermometers and thermostat are mounted on the back of the unit and the heat tape is beneath the pans which are actually just XXL wire dog kennel pans.

We used plastic boards (forget the name of it, but you can find it by the plexi glass in Home Depot or Lowes) to split two holes for our smaller boas.

Now, for the new additions.

Orion - Normal DH Snow produced by Peter Kahl

Chaos - Hypo Pos. TH Moonglow produced by Shawn Morelan

Cosmos - Hypo Pos. TH Moonglow produced by Shawn Morelan

Aphrodite - Normal Pos. Het. Albino produced by Brendan Magee

Hestia - Albino Pos. Het. Anery produced by Shawn Morelan

Icarus - Jungle Het. Albino produced by Shawn Morelan

And ... the usual suspects.

Artemis - 07 Normal Het. Albino produced by Stela’s Jungle

Helios - 08 Albino produced by Fantasy Boas

Don’t worry, it’s just EcoEarth.

Isis - 08 Hypo TH Moonglow produced by Unique Reptiles

Osiris - 08 Hypo TH Moonglow produced by Unique Reptiles

Selene (still hates me) - 09 Normal DH Snow produced by David Colling

Nyx (also still hates me) - 09 Anery Het. Snow recieved from Outback Reptiles

These guys are still in a 50 Gallon Terrarium, separated with divider and will remain here for quite some time as they are very tiny boas and supposed to be slow grown. :-p

Set - 09 Normal Longicauda produced by Glades Herp

Nephthys - 09 Normal Longicauda produced by Glades Herp

A little camera shy today.

Enjoy.

What a wonderful collection of beautiful snakes. Awesome luck on getting some snakes that should prove interesting for breeding projects. The longucauda are gorgeous (Ok well they all are). The new racks look great!
