4ft Nic. The prey item should be about the same size to slightly larger then the girth of your snake.

4ft Nic.
younger more active snakes should eat 1 appropriately sized prey item every 7 to 10 days. Older slower less active snakes should eat one appropriately sized prey item every 10-14 days. The size of your prey item will depend on the girth or how big around your snake is. Some people say slightly smaller... some say slightly larger.. I go with as close to the same size as possible. My 5 foot boa eats either really big small rats or small mediums (if that makes sense to you) he is a little bigger around than my arm at its largest point.. so that is how I choose my prey items. I don’t really think that there is a difference whether you feed 1 or 3.. except for convenience. I’d much rather feed 1 appropriately sized prey than a whole bunch of little ones... too time consuming for me.. I feed live and supervise each feeding until the swallowing process... (I have 22 snakes...so that takes a while) Anyway hope this helps..

4ft Nic. Yeah, sometimes you have to make do with what local suppliers have. When you go to the show, you should look for either weanling sized rats or small rats. Your nic/col boa looks big enough to handle that size range.
I have a 42 inch nic that will only accept mice. So feeding him can be a pain. I give him 2-3 large mice every other week.
One larger sized meal is going to leave a larger bulge than feeding multiple smaller feeders. There will also be more non digestible material (hair) in the many smaller feeder plan. Just so you know.
