Is it too late to feed inside?

Ive always fed my baby male columbian outside the enclosure. he’s 5mths and about 2ft. I wanna switch to inside and hook train him. My female is 17mths and was always fed outside her whole life. I tried feeding her inside but she was a bit hissy after that. Is it too late to feed her inside? I tried the hook but she freaked out more when I touched her with the hook. Then again she was getting close to her shed cycle so maybe thats why she was hissy for like 2 weeks. My burmese has been fed inside the enclosure and is now almost hook trained but he’s only 2mths so it wasnt hard. After doing hardcore research I now understand that feeding inside is safer and do-able. Just about every experienced person feeds inside. I see the dangers of outside feeding and my female boa has the most vicious feeding response. she’s stays in feeding mode for a while but its easy to transport her in and out after feeding cuz she’s only 3ft. but when she’s 7ft. it’ll be dangerous. I just want to no if its not too late to transfer my male and female boas from feeding outside to feeding inside the cage instead?

Im just going to take a guess here....i dont think its to late. The snake might think its "weird" though ..just wait a while, drop a mouse in an leave the room for 5min. (just a guess im new to boa’s my self)

Only do this if you feed F/T. If you feed live NEVER leave the prey and snake unattended. As far as changing to cage feeding it shouldn’t be hard. If you feed F/T place the prey on the top of the cage to thaw(in a container). If you feed live place the prey near the cage for about 30mins. This will scent the room. Them when ready place the prey in the cage. If she doesn’t take it then (if it is F/T) leave it overnight. If it is live wait for about 15 mins and if she’s not interested try next week. Sometimes it is best for them to be hungry anyway.

well I def. dont feed live. All of my snakes thankfully have great feeding responses and never skip meals. I dont doubt they wont eat because I fed my male and female once in there cages and both took with no hesitation. My only concern is cage aggression. I dont want there personalities changing after this. but I got to do what I got to do to be safe when there large. I also believe they’ll be confused for a little but lol.
thanks guys

Actually I never have understood that. If you get into the cage to do mantainance and handling then they shouldn’t assume that when the cage opens it is feeding time. As long as you don’t smell like a ra you should be fine. We have had our Colombian since he was 7 months(now 3 years old) and he has never sruck at me or even hissed.

I guess if all you do is throw food in there they’ll think foods coming but if you actually take care of your animal like handling, water changing, cleaning, etc. Somebody who only throws food in the cage the I would guess everytime the cage opens the snake’s looking for food.
