ALBINO Boa constrictor
About 7 months old. At the shop (Ben Siegel breeder), they told me is just like a colombian. Should i care of her like a normal boa constrictor or someone have any tips? How about the temperature? Thank you |

Albinos are awsome ain’t they. The husbandry is exactly the same as any other Common Boa. The colour is just its morph. 82 - 84f cool end and 92 - 94f the warm end basking spot. Humidity 40 - 60% I keep mine in enclosures 4ft long x 3ft wide x 12 inches high. That gives 12 feet of floor space. On average a boa will need 1 sq foot of floor space per foot of snake, but bigger is better for Boas. |

Shes doing great, always hungry and killer! I’m giving her medium-size prekilled mice, but she still attack so fast the mice. With me she is very gentle and never try to bite. |

very easily mate. It’s a polyethylene vivarium, very similar to a rack really, only you don’t have to pull a drawer open. I heat it with a heatmat placed on the bottom of the vivarium and this provides a nice warm belly heat source and to provide an ambient air temperature, I heat the whole room where I keep all of my snakes. Pretty much like any other snake room a keeper may have. Here is a photo for you..

Albinos vary in price depending on where you live, whether it’s male or female or whether it is Kahl or Sharp strain. UK prices are up and down at the moment. I have seen some advertised at £500 (Kahl strain) and yet some are still floating around at £800. Sharp strain seem to be a little more difficult to get hold of and I have recently seen a female up for £1500. They do seem to have a much richer colouring, which maybe is because of the BCC in them and they hold the colour better than Kahl strain, but personally i prefer Kahl strain. Maybe it’s because it seems to be a more common strain to get hold of and is pure BCI. If you are in the US, Pete kahl is advertising his at $750 whereas on Brian Sharps website he is selling his 50% SURINAME ALBINO BOAS (Boa c. c. x Boa c. imp) at $3,500 each and up |
