My beardies don’t like it either. I have to force feed it to them with a syringe. Newfgal has been using Parazap for a while, so she might have some tips, but she is on a trip right now and shouldn’t be back for at least two days.
One thing I do know about parazap is that you can only keep the tea for 24 hours after you make it, then you have to throw it away and make some more. Since there’s no way that I’d use all that tea in a day, I cut the recipe in half: Boil 1/3 cup water instead of 2/3, and add 1/2 teaspoon parazap instead of a full teaspoon.

I’m glad someone made this post. I just ordered some & It should be here any day. As Wyvern said, I’m sure Nancy will have some good tips about it when she returns. I ordered a syringe but I don’t want to make Drago upset or scared. He already doesn’t like to be held too much so I can just imagine how he would be after I try force it:(

You know, i have heard alot of people say their beardies don’t like the ParaZap, i must have some very well behaved beardies b/c mine love the stuff! lol...Yes once it is made it must be thrown out after 24 hours, so you give it to them 2 x a day, throw the rest out, and make it fresh the next morning...I leave my beardies in their enclosure, and give it to them while they are basking, and the love the stuff, lol, when they see the dropper over their nose, the start licking, lol, it’s so cute!! In the beginning, my female was pretty stubborn about excepting it, but i just kept putting a drop on her snout, and at times i have stood there for a good 30 min, trying to get her to drink, but eventually she did..now, she loves it! I would just leave them in their enclosure and give it there, i wouldn’t force feed it to them or they may never want it...don’t give up, just keep trying, eventually they will except it willingly, and like it...hopefully, lol...good luck..

 Parazap!

I am alittle confused with the instructions, I bought it, so I boil the water, add the parazap, stir, let cool, pour the liquid off and throw out the solids on the bottom?

THanks

Yes to everything you said except the last part..after it has cooled and settled to the bottom, do not pour out ALL the liquid, just the top part that looks like brown water, lol...then add the rest, or proper dosage, to the syringe or dropper, and give it to your beardie. The solids on the bottom is the actually ingregients, and this is what should be given, but keep enough of the liquid in order to give it to your beardie...

 Parazap!

Quote:

Because Para-zap is made of 100% natural ingredients, overdosing is not a concern. Para-zap is a food supplement, not a medicine or drug. It allows your pet’s body to gently eliminate the parasites. Para-zap contains ingredients that revitalize the intestinal track to increase the absorption of food which makes your pet more healthy. We have received many reports of pet owners seeing an increase in the appetite after giving Para-zap for a few days. Slow growing or lethargic pets benefit greatly from a few doses of Para-zap.

Because the Coccidia parasite is usually present when there are other parasites, you may see a dramatic difference in the Coccidia count! Coccidia usually increases with stress. Your pet may be stressed from the presence of parasites, so eliminating the cause of the stress almost always helps reduce the coccidia count. If your pet has been on Albon or some of the other drugs for parasites, give them para-zap. It will help with the appetite and help to increase the energy level.

Quote:

Directions for use:
The plants used in ParaZap have been used for thousands of years to rid the body of parasites with out fear of side effects or overdosing. Because ParaZap is all natural and not a drug, your pet will not suffer during its use. ParaZap is made from mild ingredients that are good for your pet; not harsh, dangerous chemicals as other parasite formulas. ParaZap will also help if your pet is lethargic, slow to grow, etc. The tea should be made fresh each day. Discard unused tea after 24 hours.
Lizards, geckos, iguanas, etc: Bring 2/3 C. of water to boil. Stir in rounded tsp. of ParaZap. Allow to cool. Most of the solids will sink to the bottom. Pour off the liquid. Administer tea with eyedropper or ParaZap’s modified syringe so you can gauge how much is being consumed. (ex. 3cc or more for a lizard the size of an adult bearded dragon.) Offer ParaZap twice a day, morning and night.

Important Notes:
Remember! ParaZap is not magical fairy dust and one sip won’t do the job. A continuous flow must be given. It is a little work to do it right, but your pets health is so worth it.

If your pet has parasites, continue regimen for 2 weeks. If using for preventative measures give 5-10 consecutive days each month.

Instinctively, most pets will know ParaZap will be good for them and readily accept it. However, other forms of hydration should be removed if giving the tea, and other sources of food if mixing powder and food.

Sham, not exactly what you were looking for, but if it’s about boosting the appetite, it’s in the first paragraph...

So does this mean you can mix the powder with the food. Like dust their greens??? Sort of sounds like that.

Does anyone know for sure?

What that means is no other forms of hydration should be given...do not dust their food and don’t bathe them, i just give mine small mist when they are on their monthly dosage b/c Parazap hydrates them enough that they do not need anything else...in the beginning i tried to email them about this but couldn’t do it so i called and this is what she told me...also, your beardie may not want to eat while they are on parazap, so don’t worry if he doesn’t...

Your welcome Sham, and yes, the de-wormer is hard on a beardies tummy, and vets do tend to offer it wether they have Paracites or not, just to be sure, which i think is nuts!

The only problem with putting it directly on the food is he will not get the proper dosage and b/c of that it may not work for him, if you gently open his mouth and place the syringe close to his mouth you could shoot in in real fast, lol, i have had to do this with my beardies in the beginning, now they love the stuff! lol...Not all, but most herps like the taste of it so try dripping a little on his nose and see if he will lick it off...

I highly doubt the validity of this stuff. Will it increase your lizards appetite? Probably, but I doubt its because of a decrease in parasites. Holistic medicine is a SHAM, and this is just another one. If it were truly a de-parasitizer, it would have all the negative effects of one as well, like getting rid of all the good bacteria and little crawlies in a beardies intestinal tract. The fact that it doesn’t, shows that it doesn’t do a good job of killing ANY little crawlie, good or bad.

Yes it does, very much so, i have seen it first hand with all my dragons...

Actually, ParaZap also helps with the good bacteria that may have been killed off by vet meds, it clearly states this on the site....

Quote:

It does infact kill paracites and the eggs, and if given proper doses every month on a regular basis, will keep them dead...why would someone sell a product like this one if it doesn’t work?

I have been using this for going on 4 months now, i have seen some major changes in my dragons, for the better with ParaZap...

And i remember you, it seems whenever someone posts something good on here, you turn it into a night mare, and start bashing people, yep, i remember from another post that was deleted b/c everyone was getting so worked up, so really, why don’t you just back off, this product does great things for herps, and other animals as well...

This is NOT true!!! My in-laws have been involved in holistic medicine for years and have seen great results. I myself use holistic medicines. Did something not work for you? Maybe you weren’t following the procedures the right way! It’s quite obvious this product has worked for several people and I’m anxious to get Nim and Gomez started on it.

It’s too bad you have to come in and try to spoil a good thing.
