 HATCHLINGS AT LAS!!

Pinhead crickets, water, UVA/UVB, calcium, and a clean cage is all it takes.

 HATCHLINGS AT LAS!!

hey there...always exciting to have new draglings and especially if its the first few times....106 days is a long durn time. What temp did you incubate the eggs? I incubate at 86 degrees and usually have babies by 50-60 days. Congrats on the little ones. Take care Beth

I have never heard of beardies ever taking so long to hatch. You must have had your temps very low. The most it should ever take is 80 days. I have read about beardies that incubate at low temps that spend too much time in the eggs. They can come out with rubbery or soft limbs meaning that they have already started to deplete their calcium reserves and are starting to get metabolic bone disease. I am not trying to scare you. I am very happy that your eggs finally hatched. I just think that should make sure you are using calcium with every feeding. keep an eye out for early stage MBD signs. Plus you incubator temps should be between 81f and 86f. The higher the temp the faster they hatch. I like to keep mine at 82f. That way they always finish the yolk sacs before hatching. If your incubator temps said they were in that range you need to get another reading from anther thermometer. It shouldn’t ever take 106 days. Good luck with the babies they are a hand-full.
