 I now have 16 eggs????????????

so i got home and no eggs. Sun day rooled around and i fed them. i was sitting around playing wow and the male started to dig a rather large hole. Then my suprise my girl got on his back to lay the eggs in the hole. It took her 45 min to lay the eggs. Then she left and my male went about burrying them. Is this normal? though nterestin gto watch. i went to take the eggs out and place them in the incubator and he got defensive (usually he is hyper), but this was huff puff and almost bite. he even charged me so i had to place him in a seperate container to transfer the eggs.
How long until i should expect a hatching.

Why would you leave the male in with the female? Do you not realize he will rebreed her and possibly even kill her? Common sense

she was seperated from the male after egg transfer. Where she will stay until she is back to health.
