Brumation??? now i wont be brumating for a while of course but i would like to begin my research so i am prepared. now i understand all the basics i just need someone to give me a fully detailed list of all the steps you take to brumate.i.e. pre-brumation, what you do during brumation(temps, light cycles and what not), post-brumation
also, i would like to know what is better to do , leave them in their cage with a basking spot or put them in a box and don’t feed them at all the entire time.
all info about both methods would be greatly appreciated.

Brumation??? They dont have to brumate. its not required by any means. we breeders brumate to stimulate breeding in the spring. most dragons should just be kept in their cage if they try to sleep let them, if not just keep up normal routines.

Brumation??? Start off 6 weeks before you want them to go down. Shorten the lights from 14 to 10 hours by 1 hour a week. Get a fecal done at the vet to make sure nothing is brewing that could take hold during the sleep. next figure out where they will go ahead of time. make sure the last week to not offer food and bathe them in warm baths 3 times a week the last 2 weeks to insure they expel all waste and nothing is left to rot in the gut. after one week of the lights at 10 hrs we cut the lights out completely. They stay in the cage for 3 days then transfer them to where they will spend brumation. We put ours in plastic shoe boxes with plenty of holes in the lid. We give them plenty of non dyed paper towels under and on top of them for "blankies". Then we store them between 50-60F under a blanket to keep it dark for them. Check on them often at first to make sure they are all going down and sleeping. Then just check every two weeks and offer a drink if they are active at all.
