Sure. Either post them here or PM me to get my personal email. You need pics of the vent (aka butthole) looking down the tail while it’s slightly bent upwards. Just behind the vent on the tail is where you can see hemipenes or not and judge the width of the opening. The dragon needs to be at least 7" or more IMO to be accurate as I’ve been fooled by the "one bump" "two bumps" thing in newborns in the past despite thinking I’m a bada$$ at sexing lizards.

in another post someone gave an example of a pic you can take for people to help sex your beardie. Do you know what to look for and cant tell, or simply just DONT know? LOL-- doesnt matter either way. :) ...but they will either have a dent or two bumps.
If you can take a pic from the tail down usually it is easy to tell.
Im sorry, I hope this helped a little...

Post a photo like this. This one’s a female, by the way. A male would have two bumps on either side.

You have to bend the tail up higher. where the tail and meet push down and lift the tail up have to see the vent.

No you don’t. You can tell perfectly that that is a female. Only one bump. Seeing the vent tends to be more confusing.

Actually, seeing the vent helps. Haven’t you noticed on dragons that male’s have wider cloacal/vent openings vs. females? It’s pretty easily visible if you compare a few dragons.

I see. I did not know. If you want to breed, get good quality, sexed, adult morphs to start with. Don’t just breed random dragons that may or may not be related to make money.

very true. sad thing is most people dont care to have any moral standard when it comes to animals and reptiles in general. sadly many of us in the industry were working very hard to make sure pet store dragons had real color. with more and more people in this country breeding just for fun, and breeding whatever to whatever it has flooded the market with low color sickly and small dragons. Ever worse when wholesale buyers dont care what pathetic animals they pass on to the end consumer.

This has gotten very far from the original question at hand. I thought the purpose of these forums was to help people asking questions, not to make assumptions as to their dragon’s overall health and their choices on which dragons to mate.

For the record, I suppose I am what you would call a "backyard breeder", in that I do not attend reptile shows to sell my dragons at, nor do I have more than one breeding pair. That said, everyone has to start somewhere, and what is the logical starting point? One pair of dragons! Now I don’t mean to attack anyone on here, because I agree that maybe pet stores don’t carry the best animals all the time, but I think health as opposed to colour is always more important. I have a NORMAL male that is very robust, and sorry if he isn’t bright orange or see through or glow in the dark, and a female that is half normal, so overall, not too colourful, and I am breeding them to make only slightly coloured dragons. Also, I have successfully raised my first clutch of dragons, and was told by a very reputable breeder (who also takes in the eggs I can’t incubate myself) that my dragons were some of the largest and healthiest they’ve seen right out of the egg. I have a pet store that I am going to supply to, and I know the owner personally, and I know for a fact that he takes good care of his animals, and would never cheat a customer into taking a sickly or as you say "pathetic" animal.
Sorry to ramble, I just don’t appreciate when people make assumptions, and refuse to help someone in need because of their own beliefs on the topic.

Dude, you’re acting like we sent you an email attacking you. Yes, everyone has to start somewhere. And having a single breeding pair is fine. However, getting two random normal morphs without knowing their genetic history and breeding them is, honestly, a bit sketchy. That would be like finding two stray dogs of unknown ancestry and genetics and deciding they would make a good starting place for breeding.

To start out, even if you want average looking dragons, get them from a breeder, be sure they are unrelated, and be able to title the babies. It’s like breeding mutts verses purebreds. The world is already full of inbred mutts, we don’t need anymore. If you want to work with them, do what I do, rescue! I am not a breeder and never plan to be. I prefer to rescue, and would recommend it to anyone.

My comment was directed towards Bama, and I know it wasn’t an attack on me personally, I’ve just seen too many posts on here, where people don’t get the help they need because of their personal beliefs. And I agree, it is good to know where a dragon comes from, rather than having a bunch of mutts breeding to mutts. I guess it was just the "low colour" comment that made me kind of upset, because I find them as beautiful in their own, more natural looking way, as say an orange or a red dragon. To say that all backyard breeding is bad is a pretty negative way to look at things, since pets are a hobby people have, and if they choose to responsibly breed their animals, what right does anyone have to stop them, as long as they recieve the proper care, nutrients, and eventually, go to good homes where people will appreciate them. I’m sure once upon a time, even the top breeders today began with a single breeding pair of beardies as a hobby, that grew into a business.

A PM is a personal message, just a message from one user to another.

Also, do you plan to breed? Why?

you want to keep a batch or two? LOL do you have any idea what breeding entails? Between 10 and 50 eggs per clutch every month for up to a year. Do you really have the space time and money to house 120-600 dragons for the next 12 years? If you want more pets adopt some. There are tons of homeless reptiles that need homes and there is no reason you should be adding to to that population with inbred bearded dragons of unknown ancestry. Please do your research and purchase good quality breeding animals before breeding. Like i said, emails the photos on regular email and I’ll post them for you.

Lol, you could not fit 600 40 gallon tanks in two rooms. Remember that bearded dragons must live SINGLY. That is, one per cage. And the cage must be 18" x 36". That means that 600 cages would take up, with no room for lighting, etc. 900 FEET x 30,000 FEET. That’s 27 MILLION square feet of space. You don’t even have that much space on your entire lot!

Two empty rooms and "plenty" of old tanks won’t cut it. You’re going to have to buy a freaking farm.

Why not just adopt a few more bearded dragons that are HOMELESS and NEED you rather than go in over your head producing more?! I’ll send you as many rescue dragons as you need! It’s people like you who make people like me work my A$$ off rescuing animals!
