 Help

Vicky,
To my understanding they can hatch within a short period of time, but not always all at once. It the egg is callasped, and the baby is stuck, I believe there is a little way to help them get out too.
As far as food... It sounds like some people start feeding them right away with little crickets. Also some JUST HATCHED meal worms (tiny) will be another option for them. Although I believe they are ready to eat right away.
Im sure you will get some expert advice from some of these other people, for they know a lot more then me.
I hope this helps till someone else replies! :)

 Help

Hi the babies will live off the egg sack for a couple of days but you should offer some greens and then baby crickets.Mine started to eat 3 days after they hatched,I always leave a bowl of greens in with them and then give them crickets a couple of times a day, whatever they will in 15 minutes,At first they seemed afraid of the crickets but it does,nt take them long to realize that its food.Hope this helps ,Babs

I really want to stress the fact that hatchlings can live without sustenance for about 5 days. They are amazing creatures. But from the time they hatch and you put them on misted papertowel in the incubator for 24 hours, add some finally chopped greens, I mean just a sprinkle to the papertowel...after the 24-36 hours, when you add them to your hatchling tanks, do not feed live prey. Lights on...wait an hour or so... put freshly food processored greens on a lid...pringles, margaine, whatever that has very little sides..drop some greens from above, around every baby, hold the lid under each babies head for a minute and then mist the greens and place on cool side of tank. Repeat this at least 3 times every day. It is so important for them to learn to eat their greens..what happens if your crix shipment does not come in???teach them to eat their greens...Take good care B
