 Tomato horn worm breeding help

Hi! I just got back from a reptile expo, and I got some tomato horn worms from mullberry farms. I’m planning on breeding, so I won’t feed them all. I was thinking about keeping maybe 4-5 because I only got 20.
But here’s my idea.

I’m gonna use this container (the largest one of course)
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752730

And fill the bottom with 1-2 inches of potting soil. I am then going to put that black mesh stuff in it and Bend it, so they can crawl all over it. Does this sound good? Are they easy to breed? I have extra food too, but not tomato leaves. I will only use the tomato leaves to encourage the moths to breed.
Anyways, is this good? I appreciate it! Btw-- these are for beardies. :3
