Dragons coming along fine
My babie are coming along well... I think. They are 2 months old now and are eating well. They are eating 3/4 inch crix and I also have them eating silks and some wax and butter worms. They weigh in at... 1) 31 grams... 2) 27 grams. I seperated them from the one tank as one was looking bigger and as it turned out was weighing more... they both weighed 6 grams each at just over a month old. I am also wanting to know about the sun glo 125 bulb... 10.0 uvb. I just got one for each of the dragons because the heat source and uvb lights now take up two fixtures each and I am trying to make things easier for me and perfect for the dragons. Are the lights any good? What is the best distance to have them at... still providing the required 110-115 degree temerature (their tanks right now are 30x13x18 and 24x12x17... they will be transfered to their 50 gallon cabinet tank once they out grow the ones they are in). Also... with the 125 sun glo bulb how long should it be on during the day... the same 12-14 hours time frame as the set up they have now. The silk worms I started grew up well and are being fed off. I started a second batch but for some reason they did not take... only one hatched. I just started the third batch and we will see what I get. I also started my dubia roach colony and they seem to be doing ok. I just feed them and leave them alone for the most part right now. Look forward to hearing from you |

Sorry have another question about the lights. I use the same watt light bulb for both tanks and same size uvb 10.0 bulb (right now) In one tank the light is much lower than the other tank and the difference in tak size in height is maybe 1-2 inches. In order to get the temp at 110 the light is almost on top of the dragon. The bulbs being used are 60 watt basking bulbs. I would try a bigger wattage but the bulb max is 60 watt for this ballast. I am just confused why the same bulb size in relatively same size tanks at the same distance does not produce the same temp on the basking spot. |
