As for greens, mine dont eat much either. Zippy will take a bite, meanwhile Roxy doesnt touch them. I still offer them a little salad. The crickets always like it! LOL -- however I would be generous on the fruit. It is good every now and then, but not as a staple food. Different greens & spuash is a good stable food. I just switch my greens up each time I buy. They tend to be more tempted with Dand greens then the others. Yes, you should cut them into small pieces! I grade my squash for the adults and then also chop it up for the babies, and the color temps them! :) LOL -- what ever works! You can also offer him other things then the crickets. I gave mine phoenix worms, and they LOVED them! BUT... right after that they would not eat crickets. LOL -- they only wanted worms. I bought them mediums, and they were the perfect size. High in calcium. Sorry it took so long, but I got caught up in cooking dinner. I started my lasagna a little too late. LOL-- ooopsy. Oh well.. still tasted good. :) Nina |

So, there are many reasons why he may not have eaten.... I wouldnt worry if he is eating ok. Watch for hydration though! .... Nina |

Sounds like you are doing everything right. Just keeping doing it, and dont be like me and be a ’worried mom’ all the time! :) Not too much will change for him other then growth. But just remember as they get older, their eating usually slows. I say usually, cause not ALL do... but for the most part they do. HOG still eats like a hog...and that is him. Although, the older they get... their diet will become more vegeterian. Greens and squash will become a staple, and not so many crickets. For the adults... I feed crickets 1-2 times a week, and same for worms when they get them. Other then that, veggies and some occasional fruit. The lasagna actually turned out real good. YUMMY. :) --I would ship it, but you wouldnt want it by the time it got there. LOL My air conditioner stays on during the summer. It gets so hot here, that we dont turn it off at all for months. Just up and down. Although, I have never noticed that being a change in their activity... but it may. At night (since the air is on and blows near HOGs tank) I near on a ceramic heat lamp. Both my adults have one... and the babies are not ina cold/breezy area. Im sure he would even be fine without it. I dont think you need to cut the peas in half. They should be fine for him now... do you know his weight? Or even length?.. I need a idea of his actual size... but peas are pretty small and not hard. I do still cut my green beans for the adults, although im sure they would be fine if i didnt. Kinda wierd.... HOG seems to like green bean fries over fresh green beans! When I say GBF... I mean, the ones that sit in his tank over night and dry from the heat lamp. He will go over and crunch away! If I replace with fresh.. he walks away. Just follow by your babies actions. He will let you know how he likes stuff. Hope I answered all questions.... im sure others have an oppinion too. :) Nina |
