And here hes biting my older son...didnt break the skin, said he couldnt even feel it

Yes we do but, its rare to ever see them. My friend had one in her yard 2 weeks ago but she let it go.
I made sure this was a Scarlet before I let my son pick it up because we have Corals here too....only seen one since we’ve lived here

You’ve seen a coral?! Omg I need to get out more. I haven’t seen anything more than some anoles and occasionally a black racer.Caught a rat snake a couple of YEARS ago but that’s about it.

I’d love to see one.Maybe not get that near it but I think it would be amazing to just SEE one and maybe get a pic or two.I don’t really mind all the animals that everyone else considers "man-killers" or "vicious".Technically, anything can kill you so why not experience it all before something does?

The snake I seen mostly where I just moved from was Rattle Snakes... and I can honestly say I would not be sad if I eve seen one again. There were TONS of babies... not good. We had a neighbor killing one at 11:30 at night right outside my door on the common walkway. (poor man was HORRIFIED) Cool, but NOT cool. LOL :)
Oh, we had some other ones too.. they were black with a yellow stripe down its back? A racer? I dont know.. but my husband was walking along, and step into the grass. He felt a wipping feeling, and noticed the snaked latched to his shoe and wipping his leg with its tail. LOL -- he took a pic after he grabed him.

I usually only see anoles, racers, oak snakes, house gecko’s and the occasional rat snake around here (well, besides the moccasins and the gators). I’ve never seen anything cool like that. Good find!

He is beautiful! Dee! I had one when I was a teenager (a really long, long, long time ago)! They are so beautiful and mine was really tame, but he was really good at getting out of his tank. He managed to scare the heck out of my sisters! LOL

Yea, I hear they are very good escape artists. I also read they dont do good in captivity because of their diet. Im trying to find as much info as I can.

lol I don’t know about king snakes but I’ve had a lot of people tell me that the snakes I catch will never tame or do well in captivity.I tamed my racer in a day and got her to eat for me and she did fine.I was also told that my ring neck snake would never eat in captivity and die within two days.I kept him for two weeks,eating fine,and then I gave him to a friend.I’m sure if you tried hard enough he’d make an awesome pet and eventually get used to you(and stop biting).

Yeah he is.I went out early this morning to see if I could find anything but there weren’t even water snakes in the lake! I was even prepared to jump in if I saw one but apparently the only living things in my apartments are ducks,fish, and anoles. D:
I’m gonna walk to the stream by my cousin’s house(about a mile away from me) and see if I can find anything tomorrow.He claims he’s seen 2 king snakes there but knowing him, he’s probably bluffing.

Easy way to tell if its a king or coral is to check the head. kings have red heads while corals have black.


anyway....i can’t be on for long. Very rare find. Try feeding him an anole first and see if he takes it then go to mice. If you can catch skinks that might be a better food item. lol.

How come your son made his stomach look deformed while holding the ratsnake? lmao jk.
