 Tell me what you think

This guy was caught at Universal studios. He’s pretty beat up. He has several bites out of his crest and some pretty bad scars (that are actually healed) on his legs. He’s very docile for a Basilisk but seems to be eating and pooping great.
He has an outdoor enclosure for nice days but he’s been inside the last couple of days due to bad weather.
Does he look thin? Male/Female? Brown or green? (He only looks green after a bath.) Age?
How about the discoloration on his nose?
I’ve had him about 1 week

well i’ts not a green basilisk, and i would say it’s a female, but don’t quote me on that i only really have any experience with green basalisks...it doesn’t look too thin and i would say it’s a juvenile bordering on adulthood so maybe 1and a half to 2 years old...

OK...I get it. They are native to Central America but now live here in Florida kinda like the iguannas. They were escaped or released pets and now they live here wild.
So I wonder what mine is.

I was actually looking at your basilisk and thinking male. Doesn’t have much in the way of back ridges but the crest on the head is very pronounced. He certainly is a bit beat up. I’m sure he’s appreciating the new home but I wonder if he wouldn’t be better off being let go in a less industrial area?

Just a thought.

If you can, try to get the latest(most recent) fecel sample to the vet because he will put it under a microscope or something and check for them. Label the baggy with the date, name and your number.

Make sure the fecal is less than 24 hours old. Better results that way!

not really, looks like a small male, since you said he only looks green after a bath he must be sick, about the age of younger than a full grown adult but older than a teenage basilisk, the nose might either be a problem from fighting or just sick

They are not native to Florida. A couple of people, I mean a lot of people DID NOT CARE TO CARE FOR THEM PROPERLY and some escaped and they started to breed and now there invasive or whatever they call it.
