 Stuck shed?

You can try the PIllow Case trick:

Get a "low thread count" pillow case (cheap, very breathable).
Dampen a towl and plac inside damp pillow case (wet, not dripping).
Place snake inside pillow case with towel.
Tie of the end (tight enough the snake can nor escape, loose enough you can untie it).
Let snake roam around inside for about 20 - 30 minutes...
You can set the pillow case back into the enclosure (don’t forget it is in there),
or place on your lap, and move your knees, so as to make the snake crawl around a bit.

This will act like a scrubbing session...

Sounds like a humidity issue...
Humidity should range between 50% and 60%
Higher during shed cycle.

I keep mine at 54% and up it to 65% during shed
and I also mist them, from head to tail...
letting them "soak it in", and letting them drying a lil
before replacing them each back into thier enclosures.

Make sure snake has fresh water Daily... if not every other day.

What is your humidity level?
and How are you reading it?
(digital? dial? strip?)

Never peal the shed off yourself...
you can pull fresh scales off with it.

Make sure they have some thing to rub on...
Nothing sharp, but rough enough to help aide in shedding.

One of mine smushes her face on the glass...
One uses the side of her hide...

Those circle hydrometers don’t work very well. I used to use one and had no probs, but after Anouk’s first bad shed I got a digital one (check out the setting up your enclosure thread for an example of a good brand).

I really like the Eco-Earth (coconut fiber) substrate. I noticed you are from Canada, I’m from Washington state. It gets pretty dry around here. The Eco-Earth really holds humidity well. I have a tank with the open screen on top and use two heat lamps as well as a UTH and I am still able to keep my humidity stable.

 Stuck shed?

My stick on hydrometer tried telling me the humidity in my room was 80% when it was really 45%. Definitely invest 13$ into getting a dual thermometer/hydrometer than will give you accurate readings! The Acurite model that Walmart sells is very popular.

You mentioned that you already tried a bath, but did you do it this way? Link

The other methods people listed work well too.

Good luck,
Dennis
