 Why I hate glass tanks (sad report) vent
well I get a call tonight ( about 7pm) from a couple really upset .. They were refer to me via 911 but I think the 911 miss under stood the problem any how I make the fastest trip in the world ( I travels 20 miles in under 5 minutes ) The couple had just moved into the place a month before and had setup up the snake tank back up with their ball python. and what not . well they went out tonight to the store came hope to the place trashed , While they were out someone broke into the place and clean them out . in the process they were wipes (pardon if anyone don’t like the lang) smashed the tank with the most beautiful looking albino bp I seen . well they done such a job of it that the snake was all but completely killed . They were new to the state and are very upset over this. (which I can understand) anyhow they called 911 hoping there was something like an emergency vet in the area for snakes the dispatch thought they wanted it removed and gave them my number .. Well they also reported the break in and such . so when I get they the cops were a rude but I understood the reason(since it was a crime scene ). After I talked to the cop I was allowed in . but the snake was all but dead. From what I can tell they managed to snapped the spine , and who know what other internal injuries. but i know it more or less bled out from the amount of blood in(and around the poor )snake cage area. these people are traumatized by this act of ( in my book) cruelty and stupidity! Well after talking with them ( I offered to bury it were it most likely not going to get dug up. They were talking about getting another snake and all and stuff by the time i was about to leave . I made sure they had my number told them I do rescue and may have one when they ready . I also sketched out a couple quick non glass cages for the guy scine he was a Carpenter by trade ( which I told him he could outdo me easily). he liked my double cage design the most and said will be getting up with me in the future. I also found out (listening to the cops talking outside (boxed my in with 2 cars ) that it waspossible that the same fool doing a lot of break ins in the area and they suspect that it some one looking for hamster brain to quick sell for drug money. ( looking at the area nearby I say I agree) anyhow it looks like the sob(s) were just trashing the place looking for quick to sell items and either knocked the cage over and it broke an they freaked when the snake made a move to get out of it . or they did it to be . I can only say they better not ever let me meet them in a dark alley. I am guessing thatthe snake was a good 5 years of age.it was easily 4ft long and weight about 3 lbs (at least) befoer all the blood lost. I have spent the last 2 hours wit hmy snakes realizing that they all can be gone tomorrow.

I have had those thoughts before, not about glass cages, but the vulnerbility of our animals in situations such as that.

There’s no need to be rude. There may be other people who are not the English expert that you seem to think you are. If you couldn’t follow the post, why even bother comment?
MNut . . . you are a good hearted person to go and try to help. I’m sorry there are so many nasty, heartless people out there who would do such an awful thing to a living creature. At least the people new to the area have you as a resource now. Take care.

It is one thing to break in and rob some one or steal there stuff but why kill there animals for no reason.
That person or people should get there backs broke sliced open and left to bleed out and die.
I think it would only be fare. The problem is in todays times everyone thinks that the good punishments are cruel.

well thanks guys I passed the info ( and site link to the people ( not to sure if they got internet yet ) asd for my grammer skills ( or the lack of) I have the crappest skills ( I amit to that lol). I only gradutated more less from those extra credit classes they made you take to fill the day ( back in high school) At that I bearly got thought. and it sucks cause i held a A rating in math in school and knew more about computers than the so call school computer tech person did back then..

Reading this kinda late, but...
Sad story... people can be such @sses some times.
Was nice of you to help them out :o)
I hadn’t read this post earlier because I hate when people put down
glass enclosures - LoL - cuz mine work for me just wonderfully.
Hopefully they will catch the person(s) responsible for the break in,
and they will be charged with animal cruelty, as well as the breaking and entering.

I don’t hate glass tanks but I don’t prefer them it just I hate what I saw that night . as of last talk ( 2-3 days ago) they had not gotten a new snake for they are busy repairing,repalcing, and cleaning up the place . THey have also been staying in another apartement ( type place )while they doing everythign. He been calling about the cage desgins and if they get the time wants to come over and check out my set up .. I heard from the cop also . which is funny he was asking me to id a snake, he was on a complaint call and while there they ofund a corn snake inthe guys shed ( it appear the guy though someone had broek into it but found out it was the corn trying ot shed .
