I believe the ball is definitely ready for small to med rats. The redtail could even eat small rats.

There is no rule that you can’t but it is recommended by most people not to just for the safety of your animals. I have heard horror stories about snakes eating each other. Another reason why I think it is not a good idea is if one of them should get sick you would not know which one it is.

I did have redtails together at one time than did some research and decided against it, but it is ultimately up to you.
