 Does this look normal?

I have officially ticked off Claira but I wanted someone to see what I am seeing. I don’t know if you can tell by pics but her right eye still has shed from last shed and she is WAY ready to shed again. Other eye is hazy blue so I am waiting patiently but obviously a bit ansy. Any thoughts?

Any input is appreciated!

So her right eye is hazy still, but the other isn’t?

Right eye is completely covered with shed from her previous shed. She never got it off. The left eye is hazy and bluish. Her color is obvious for shed status but it has been 14 days now.

Well here is the issue:

If the right eye cap never came off, it would still be clear after the shed. Did it never become clear?

If it didn’t, you need to take her to the vet. It could be an infection, a parasite, or an injury.

If it did, just wait until the current shed is complete and see if it comes off.

Right eye cap never came off and not clear, I actually think part of scale got attached somehow but vet gave us parasite spray and we have followed directions to a tee. I’m guessing that under that scaly area her right eye is hazy too but I don’t want to go poking and proding with her this far in current shed.

Vet said she had parasite following last shed but it’s now under control. She said we would see a big difference after this shed. This is part of the reason I am so ansy.

Question... someone had suggested putting her in bathtub to help with shed. Your opinion? I have gotten mixed suggestions and you seem to know what you’re talking about! It’s been the full 14 days and she just keeps poking in and out of hide today after spending 3 days in hide and not coming out so she is being more active. Drank some water today but didn’t submerge in water bowl.

Try using the "Pillow Case" Method...

Quote:

Get an old PillowCase (low thread count)
Wet the Pillow Case with Warm water
Put the snake in the wet Pillow Case
Tie the end Loosely and leave it in there, for 30 minutes.
*You can kind of move the Pillow Case around in your lap or hands,
to make the snake move on its own and sort of scrub the shed off itself
(do Not peel any loose shed yourself, and NEVER use tape to remove eye caps!!!)
The snake should begin to have shed in there

I’ll try that. Who in the world would use tape???? They should be shot! Thanks for suggestion, I completely forgot about that.

tape should not be used unless you know what your doing (then only if ir really a problem).. I have used scotch tape before to help remove those little single scales that get left behind once in a while. I have also used it to help remove the eye scale after a shed sicne the entire area around it had shed and the scale in question came loose but didn’t come off and i to big handed tro use a pair of twisers ( i just used the tape to gently rock the scale free.

Well, if she is in shed but not shedding, there is no reason to soak her.

IF the shed doesn’t come off, then you can soak her.

Right now, it would be unnecessary. She is blue, so you have some time to wait (3-4 days or more) before soaking is even worth while.

That makes sense if absolutely necessary. I didn’t mean to sound hateful. I could just see someone with a roll of duct tape going after their snake. Scotch tape is not real sticky. I see your point! :)
