 Sp upset right now...

I finally decided to re-home Nagini, one of the ball pythons I rescued. I had a guy call on them and we talked for awhile, he reassured me that he will be going to a great home and will not be re-sold. Well, I go onto craigslist today, and he IS re-selling him!! I am so upset right now, because I sold him before I could really quite decide whether to keep him or not. I want him back but I doubt I’ll get him. I am so worried for him! Why do idiots screw with people’s minda and assure them that they are going to a good home, then re-sell them?? It’s sick!

I would call the guy up and ask him why he is reselling him. And if you could buy him back. If he says no then have someone you know buy it and get if from them.

Reflex,

Im sorry to hear about what happened. Unfortunately not all people can be trusted and some have alterior motives. Its not fair that someone gives you their word and it becomes a lie. Can you buy him back? Another bit of advice that may help in the future (coming from my experience of learning the ’hard way’) If you’re not sure about something don’t do it until you are. Even if its only a teeny tiny part that say well....i dont know... Dont do it.........

Reflex,

They do it because they are in it for the dollars and found someone they could con into getting one, or they did it because they really meant what they said and then after getting it something happened that prevented them from carrying through and instead of calling you up and asking you to take it back they sell it.

Been there, done that.

Rip a phone book in half and roar. It helps. Trust me.

Awww...

That is no fun.

I used to do rescue (how I got into breeding) and I have NEVER sold an animal that I recieved thru rescue. EVER.

I’ve been told by some people that I can, even, but I just don’t feel right doing that in the long run.

I’m sorry you had to be in the situation you are in, but some people can’t be trusted no matter what.

I am so sorry to hear this- I hope this guy has a logical reason for it- but then agaiun, you said you would take it back...

I dunno, I know you did your best, and its not your fault this guy is selling the snake.

I think it takes a lot of heart to do rescues and all, and it just is a big shame that there are people so dishonest out there.

Man that sucks... I had a similar situation when I rehomed a few of my retired breeders. With the promise that they would not be bred again... found them on CL being sold as "Fit Breeding rats"...

If you can call him on it and demand the snake back that would be great. If not, don’t hesitate to post a counter ad explaining the situation.

Also... it sucks that this boob is making a profit of the snake, but at the same time... you never know. He may end up going to an AMAZING home. :)

I am so sorry to hear this Reflex. As with you and Bruce the same thing happen to me as well with two dog that I sold. The guy put them up for 1500 dollars saying that they were perfect for breeding, but in reality they were fixed. People like that just want to make a quick buck and rip people off in the process.

I agree with Mr. Bruce, I too would demand the snake back.

I totally understand you. I’ve adopted about 3 normal females from homes where they could no longer keep them & I would never think of selling them. I don’t care how many I have, or any of that, those girls stay with me. Not only that, but I stay in touch with the previous owners & send them pics, etc.

It is true that it could be that they figured too late that they could not take care of them, but then he should’ve called you at the least.

Like Eve said... I have adopted several normals. 2 females and 3 males, although 2 of the males were rescues/rehabs.

Sometime you’re fortuneate and get people that will stay in touch. Same with when adopting out snakes.

I have two people that still stay in touch. Olive’s previous owner is by far the most involved (he was really excited when she bred this year and is coming over the weekend her clutch hatches to meet the babes).

I hope this works out. I know that Joanna used to make people sign a contract when ever she adopts or adopts out a snake.

I know she would not hesitate to send a copy if you need one for the future. She isn’t on RZ at all anymore, but is on BP.net.
