I finally got a rack! Still paying it off, but my buddy Craig was nice enough to loan it out before it’s done being payed off.





And... I was bad at the reptile show again! I put a deposit down on a B.C. Longicauda (Peruvian Long Tailed Boa)... man this snake is SEXY!! These aren’t my pictures... I kinda sorta stole them off Neil Golli’s website... but I’m sure he won’t mind. He’ll be mine by next month :)

I think back to not having a rack, and man... what a pain. Welcome to the dark and organized side.

I am loving that long tail. Really a nice snake. What is the estimate on size of that guy as an adult? And how big is he now?

So when are we going to start hearing you lament that you need to add some girls?

Congrats as usual, will be looking forward to updated pics of the new boy once you get him home.

I already feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. No more dealing with stacking tubs, lids, ect ect :)

He’s actually a late ’07... About a foot long or so. Longicauda males usually get around 4-5 feet, females around 6-7... so they’re a nice dwarf locality much like Hogg Islands and Nicaraguan Boas. Before I talked to Neil about them, I actually thought they got much bigger than that... so now the hunt is on for a female :)

And yes... I know I need more females! I have ALL male snakes right now... so the ratio is not good! I think whenever I drop some more money into the racks and cages... I’ll be investing in quality females for every male I have. Plus a few pairs of some other things.

Well my dad doesn’t really go into my room, doesn’t ever really see the snakes... plus with rack’s it’s definitely easier to hide them =P

Mitch.. I bought it off my friend Craig, but he had originally purchased it from Jason’s Jungle... which I had no idea they even made racks.. LOL! The top tub is slightly hard to pull out and push back in... the the rest slide out very easily. It’s also back heat (I really wanted belly heat, but I got it for a steal and I picked it up locally). I’m sure you can get one with belly heat if it’s an issue with you though. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the help Sara.... However, I don’t think I can afford a rack at the cost that Jason’s Jungle is selling them for!!! Jeeez... I’ll stick to my DIY racks....

sara... if you have a bit of room when sliding the tubs, you may be able to fit some flexwatt and aluminum foil tape (to tape down the flexwatt) under those tubs. It is quite thin...

just a thot.
