You’ll have to post the picture online via Photobucket. You can also email me at ambubadger @ gmail .com (without the spaces, of course). The line may not be associated with your anole being brown... what are the conditions the anole is living in?

Assuming he’s acting normally, making the poop and eating regularly, and doesn’t have anything bothering him like a cat in the house or another anole, it could be a lack of water. Anoles don’t usually drink from a dish-- they lick droplets off of leaves, so its best to spray the tank lightly twice or three times a day. You can also have a glass of water positioned above the tank with a piece of yarn in it, and the other end of the yarn resting on the ivy leaves. The yarn will stay damp as it carries the water, and hopefully he will come to learn see this as a source of hydration.

I have searched up things about this is the line zig zag? If it is that means yours anole is most likely female nothing wrong with it though so no use for stress.

 Weird line on my anole

Here I found this but mine has a line on her back so I must occur on green anoles too: "Sexual dimorphism is pronounced with males reaching a larger terminal size and weight (see below). The dewlap of males is also usually larger than that of the females. Female brown anoles often exhibit a dorsal line that can appear as a light-colored wave, zig-zag or diamond pattern that males typically lack. Mature males also exhibit a pronounced crest-like ridge running down the back (Williams 1983)."

Heres the link to the quote I found:
