 Quick question about anoles.

I recently got 3 anoles, I believe them to be two females and a male. They were brown but have over the past few days turned green. Upon watching them I’ve noticed some behavior I was wondering if I should worry about. One anole will constantly be on side of tank hanging there while another sits there and watches it or it will climb up and sit next to it. I’ve also noticed the watcher will sometimes hang from the screen lid while the other anole lays on the watchers stomach. Is this behavior I should worry about or is it just normal anole behavior?. I haven’t seen any dewlaps being shown yet or any head bobbing.

Unless you’re seeing bite marks, I’d say no need to worry-- the "perching" anole is likely the male, and behaving as any male would when surveying his "territory" for food and rivals. Head bobbing around the girls is fine, even if they turn brown. Threatening bobbing would include dilating pupils, mouth slightly cracked open, dark spots behind the eyes, black spots appearing on the body, and the anole flattening his body out and positioning it perpendicular to the other anole as to appear larger.

This is what I mean about hanging.

 Quick question about anoles.

I saw a pic like that before, the male was on the bottom and the female was resting on him. In your pic, it looks like the top one is a female, but I can’t tell what the bottom lizard is. As cute as it looks, it does seem to suggest you don’t have enough basking areas set up for them. Make sure everyone has room for a place to warm up-- once they get used to their new home and start staking out territory, they might be less tolerant of being so close to each other. I’ve seen that often with new anoles that I’ve brought home.

They sometimes do the hanging otherwise they bask under the light I have a piece of wood that goes the length of the cage along with a pothos plant below the lamp that they bask on also. These two just always follow each other around.

That looks like a female in the pic, and she looks healthy! Pothos are great, the leaves provide basking space and shade, and hold water droplet at them to drink off of. Also, they’re pretty hardy-- one of the few plants I haven’t killed off so far! Back to the anoles, I wouldn’t worry as long as there’s no signs of fighting or aggression between them.

 Quick question about anoles.

Yeah they love the one on the hot side. I might get another one for the cold side.
