I had anole die weeks ago, but, ever since it been having these wierd dreams. I dream that I’m holding one of my anoles where I was going to sleep and then it just disapears! I wake up and look frantically for my anole but don’t find it because it’s really in the tank. Plz help me! I’m getting no sleep!

I had a similar situation: a juvenile day gecko got out of his cage while I was busy with a friend of mine. It was different from his other "escapes" because I knew the lid was off, but I let it go because I was busy doing my own thing. It must’ve been a guilt thing, because the next few nights I kept having dreams that he was back in his cage when I knew he wasn’t. Fortunately for me, he turned up a week later (and a little skinnier) in my anole terrarium! I was really relieved, but back to your issue, I think I was having dreams because I felt guilty about letting him get away when it could’ve been prevented. In your case, you might feel bad because your tank setup wasn’t ideal, and could have had something to do with the anole’s demise...

That’s rough. I’m lucky that my anoles and geckos are the only thing I have in my place. I try as much as possible to make their space as livable as possible so they identify with it as their home-- I find that it helps because when they get out, they usually return to that area since they know it’s where they can safely sleep and find food.
