Cricket sizes Quick question. How big is TOO big when feeding anoles. Mine is VERY tiny still and i usually feed her very tiny crickets usually any where from .5 to 1 cm long or so. Her body size is... well a little bigger than the size of my pinky which is about 6 cm long give or take a few. How big is too big to be feeding her? The local pet shop gave me a few doz once and they seemed huge!! like half her size and they said that she would be able to eat these no problem. I didnt allow her to eat these and gave them to my room mate who has bigger anoles. Im a little concerned that this is wrong because one of my past anoles choked on one one night, threw it up, then died the next day... Can i just get a ratio on size what she should not be eating?? Ill just need to know cause ill have to make a trip to the next town to get the smaller ones (which is where i have been going afraid that i may lose her to a choking incident again) Thanks!! :)

Cricket sizes
Usually you should get crickets about the size between their eyes. Sometimes I break the rules and get too big because they dont have my size. I buy mediums for mine.

Cricket sizes The best rule of thumb is to feed prey items that are about half the length of the Anole’s head. They will take larger prey items (particularly caterpillers). Whether they will eat larger items depends on how hungry they are and what the particular item is.
