What kind of Anole is this????

His Face

His side

His Back

My husband found him in the back of a semi trailer that came from Texas. He is very pretty and I want to be able to care for him properly so I kind of need to know what he is. Thanks for all the help.

It appears to be one of the subspecies of Anolis distichus. However, the area of origin is not consistent with that species. In any case, the care would be the same as for any small/medium Anole. I’ll bump the care sheet for you.

Common names are never a good description of a species. Here are a couple of examples: 1) "Bark Anole" is used to refer to any of the three subspecies of Anolis distichus ssp. 2) "Brown Anole", "Bahamian Anole", and"Cuban Brown Anole" are all used interchangeably to the many subspecies of Anolis sagrei. It is much more specific and accurate to use the proper sceintific name (i.e., Anolis distichus, etc.).
