 Sunbasking?

at about twilight when its not too sunny but just sunny enough for them to bask ,I move my anole’s terrium outside for about an hour or 30 minutes. Is this safe for them?

p.s I tape a little "do not disturb" sign on the glass so people dont mess with them.if this is a stupid thing for me to do pleae just say so. I just think freash air might be healthy for them every once and a while

what kind of tank have you got? theres a fair few out there that have air vents on the front or side.

i’d worry too much to leave my guys outside no matter the climate, i just tend to open the window to the room they’re in to let fresh air into the room - at least indoors next to an open window you know you cant forget about them!!
also, the kind of hassle it’d be to transport my lot outside would be immense, catching them and putting them in something i can carry outside would take about 40 mins at the very least!!

Your initial assessment is correct - it is a stupid idea. Even at the end of the day, the enclosure will heat up to more than 100 degrees in about 15 minutes in direct sunlight, The ratio between the screen top and sunlight-heated glass ares is not sufficient to dissipate the heat.

There is a way do have your Anoles spend the summer outside and the winters inside. I use it with about half of my stock and I have a friend in Florida who breeds Anoles who uses the same method for his entire stock.
