Which Waterfall? I’m just wondering, which is the best waterfall for green anoles? I know that there’s a lot out there.

Which Waterfall? It really does not matter but my favorite is a waterfall used for home decor that has a screen over the basin of water. It’s cool because crickets cannot get into the water and drown causing the water to fowl up. I can take a pic of it if you would like to see it. I bought it at bed bath and beyond.

Which Waterfall? Waterfalls are for the benefit of the owners not the Anole. But, if you want to waste your money . .

Which Waterfall? I made up my anole’s tank so nice, I got a waterfall just for the look of it. Of course, I don’t expect my anoles to drink from it, or ever really go near it, and they don’t. Anoles would much prefer water droplets sitting on leaves than running water or pools of water.
The advantages of a waterfall as far as I can tell is that it’s pretty, and it sometimes leaks water if I fill it with too much water, which then moistens the dirt in the tank and waters the real plants I have in there.
The disadvantages are the horrible annoying noises it makes when it’s running too low on water, and when crickets find their way inside the waterfall’s container and then drown in the water reserves. It also needs to be refilled with water quite often (or at least mine does) or those horrible noises start.

Which Waterfall? Over the years I have had many waterfalls but this one is my favorite. It is quiet, crickets cannot get into it and drown because of the screen in the bottom that sits over the water, there are no gaps any where a cricket could crawl into it, and I have seen my lizards drink from it too. They sit on top or on the side of it and drink from the clear leaves as the water pours out of them. I also weave small vines through it to look like they are growing on it like a trelis.
This is how it looks in one of my cages. This is also my male Giant day gecko:)

I took it out of the cage and took off the vines so you can see it better. I moved the glass stones so you can see the screen over the water.

Here is another view

This is the best waterfall and only cost about $20

Which Waterfall? Yeah the exo terra waterfalls are made the worst (I’ve had 3) and the pump motors tend to be louder than most other waterfalls too. I have a Repti Rapids waterfall (for reptiles) that is made out of foam and is supposed to look like a natural rock waterfall that fits in a corner. This waterfall is the first one I ever bought for any reptile. I still have it and it is around 8 years old! I have replaced the pump maybe 4 times over the years but it has never leaked or anything and holds up great. It is loud though when the water level starts to go down and crickets drown it it too. I currently use it for my breeding White Lined geckos, they like to lay eggs behind it on the glass. It is perfect for them because being behind the waterfall they stay humid and warm. I would strongly recommend using this waterfall for egg gluing species if you live in a dry climate as it is a lifesaver:) The other waterfalls I have are both for reptiles and display(for humans to look at). For some reason the waterfalls made for humans to look at are usually quieter.
Some of my lizards poop in it too and I gotta clean it out:( Most don’t though so I’m lucky.

Which Waterfall? Prettykttkat, it’s a very pretty waterfall, makes the tank’s setting look magic. I’m torn between wanting a natural look for my anoles, or wanting something a little more magical. I’ve been striving for a natural look, that has prevented me from adding things like a little faerie house (for looks) and other things, because I don’t want to hinder my anoles or annoy them with what are probably useless obstacles.
Sigh.
Atrax, do anoles have a preference? Or do they not care as long as they can climb, eat, and hide? I like the natural look, but sometimes I wish I could get a little goofy.

Which Waterfall? Thanks:) Ha Ha a faerie house would be funny but cute. I don’t think your anoles would mind as long as it wasn’t very big and they had the other things they require like vines, plants and branches. You would also want to make sure it is non toxic. I’ve never put anything in my cages that wasn’t natural looking except for the waterfall so I am not positive but try it and see what happens. The worst thing will be that they don’t like it or hide from it and then you can just take it out, no big deal.

Which Waterfall? They don’t care as long as they can bask, climb, and hide. Foliage is almost a necessity, though.
As I said, waterfalls are for the owners not the Anoles.

Which Waterfall? i got a ’lucky reptile’ one. its nice an quiet - though when the bit goes on that stops the lizards getting into the water - it floods the tank. so i kept that bit off and stuffed it full of plants. still nice, but to be honest, my male is the only one who pays attention to it, and only then to drown live food...

Which Waterfall? Personally, I have not gotten a waterfall mostly because I had some for home decoration which eventually started gathering mold. I would assume in the warmth and humidity of a terrarium the problem would be worse.

Which Waterfall? I took the male to the vet today with my husband who was recommended by his regular vet’s office. It appears the lumps on his neck, are not abcesses or tumors, in fact, they are just skin. The black spots appear to be bruises, possibly from daughter handling him too much over the summer vacation. However, to be certain, he took photographs of the male, and will fax them to my anole’s regular vet for consultation. He did inspect the male’s mouth, and everything else, and it appears, he is in excellent health, other than these oddities.

Which Waterfall? forget what i said about the lucky reptile one. i’ve given up on it. its such a hassle to attach the pipe and the pump and even when you dislocate your hand to put it together, it still doesnt always pump water round. plus with the sides being nice and rough, bleeding into the water kinda makes the whole exercise of cleaning their water null and void. now i just have the pump in a tub of water with plants and rocks in it.
what a waste of £38!

Which Waterfall? they drink mist on leaves and are attracted to running water, which they do drink. i’ve seen them do it which is the only reason i have tried to keep running water in their tank.
