 Anoles as...feeders?!

I just saw this video on youtube of a pacman eating an anole! Do they seriously eat anoles? I thought they ate pinkies and fish and bugs!

Disclaimer: I have anoles and I have a pacman, but they’re not in the same tank nor will I ever attempt that.

I just thought it was sad...I get that anoles breed profilically and are abundant and are eaten in the wild...but mice are food, not anoles.

But are anoles good feeders? They’re so cute and fun to watch....

Have you ever seen that before? Anoles as feeders??

some people do it...even if i owned a snake or other animal that could eat them i never would. some freak fed one to his hamster on youtube. It made me want to throw his hamster in my knight anole cage to see how he would do then!

A hamster!?! THAT is so cruel! I always knew there was a reason why I never want kids. Horrible.

 Anoles as...feeders?!

Whenever one of my anoles dies, I look up "anole vs. " on youtube, and watch them being fed as feeders. It makes me more numb to their deaths, makes me less sad somehow. Does that seem wrong? Eh. Anyway, I’m sure some of you are grossed out from thinking of anoles as feeders but, hey animals eat eachother all the time out in the world, I mean think about how mice owners feel about their babes as feeders. Anoles are small lizards, and people with big lizards need to feed them something, other animals eat anoles- okay?

Anoles are usually sold as feeders... thast why they are so cheap.
I agree its sad, but i feel sad tossing crickets into the lizard tanks too! LOL

I have anoles and would never in a million years feed them to any thing

But they are common feeders for large lizards, snakes, and some frogs i guess...

in the wild they are feeders to bigger lizards, snakes, etc.

wild is one thing, but seeing teenagers tossing anoles into bearded dragon, pacman, and other lizard’s tanks while laughter occurs in the background is just mean.

Crickets are stupid...I’m sorry, but bugs arn’t that smart in the noggin. Anoles have personalities and such. =(

 Anoles as...feeders?!

I had a snake once that would only eat anoles.I felt so sad but he had to eat.He wasn’t big enough for pinkies, mice, ect. Some animals only eat what they want to and sometimes they eat what you don’t want them too.
I like bugs so it does make me feel a little sad to feed them to lizards.Lol, I know I’m a little pathetic but I absolutely love my Tiger Beetle.
However, yes, anoles are used as feeders quite often. No, they shouldn’t be used for entertainment.A pacman frog does NOT need to eat an anole and having people laugh about it in the background makes it all that much worse.

i would never feed an anole to another animal because it is a perfectly good animal to be a pet. Also, its not exactly natural to feed it since it would never see a pacman frog or beardie in the wild. It really ticks me off when people freak out at mice being fed to an animal on youtube. They dont freak out about bugs being fed. (Besides, mice are kinda lame and anoles are actually fascinating)

Mice tend to make good pets also. And there are places where you can find beardies and pacmans in the wild.Don’t you think they had to get them from somewhere before they went into the pet industry?

I’m sure a bunch of people would disagree with you there.

I’m positive bearded dragons come strictly from Australia. I’m unsure where pacmans come from, but I’m doubting Australia as well. They are from the wild oringinally, but not necessarily in the same region.

Mice ARE cute, I’ll give you that. Since we’re in an anole forum, I’m gonna have to vote that anoles rock and mice are lame.

REptigal, i never said they werent in the wild, i was saying that it is unrealistic to feed green anoles to beardies since they live in australia and as pacmans live in argentina i think. And yes i know people would disagree on what i said about mice but i dont really care. Anoles are amazing because of their sheer diversity, hunting tactics, and awesome reptilian appearance. Mice have.....none of those. lol

Mice has those whiskers, but they smell and bite..hard!

I have a few anoles, but I’m fond of one female that isn’t very skiddish at all of me. She sleeps between the same two leaves every night, and when I clean the cage, she’ll stay on my shoulder while I clean.
