 Help!

my lizard is on his death bed!! i found him underneath some plants, at first i thought he was dead till i found that he was shawllowly breathing. He’s had plenty of food, water, heat and light, i think it might be because he was sick when i got him, i had another anole from the same store pass away. Ah what to do, what to do?

Well im sorry to say but he is probably going to die of an infection or a parasite. It happened to me before.

yes unfortunately he passed away, the place i bought him must sell sick anoles. I have one from another store who is a healthy weight, is active and is happy.

sorry about the loss....yeah, pet stores tend to do that....i only go to a petstore that takes decent care of their anoles(they are in a 35 gallon rather then the 5-10 gallons in most petstores)

Next time try to buy an anole that looks healthy.

The last one I bought I could tell wasn’t unhealthy, and I thought I could restore her health. It took two vet visits (the second one so they could test her fecal matter) and then she died, because it turns out she had pinworms (they were surprised how many pinworm eggs they found for such a tiny anole) and the vet wasn’t able to treat her quick enough. Trying to heal a sick anole is a lot of hard work, and the chances are not usually in your favor, so if you have to, be prepared for a big vet bill, a dead anole, and a tank setup that has to be disinfected.
