Please help with my cage revamp

Ok so I know I might get yelled at by some of you... but ok.

I have 2 anoles, a male and a female, in a 20 gal.

You can even see what I think is an infertile egg on the stick!

I really want to change the substrate. What I have now is dirt with some moss bedding over it. But the moss got too dried out and the crickets tend to hide in it. Any better ideas? Just plain organic soil?

The light is an old MVB. I really don’t have money for a new MVB, since they cost like 50$. I had bought a new coil bulb.. only to realize they are harmful to lizards.
The temp is 92 on the warm side, 85 on the cool side.
I mist twice daily.
I dust their food with ReptoCal/ReptoLife every other week.

Also I am looking for fake plants, or real ones that thrive in shallow soil, as a substitute for the dying pineapple plant in their tank. (right side)

I don’t think I am doing enough, since they are always brown. :( Well, the male is usually a lighter brown, but the female, which I think she is sick, is darker brown. Since they were bought from my local pet store... you know the deal. She appears to have a bump on her lip? IDK.

Please give suggestions for the upgrade of their enclosure.

The temperatures are too high. The cool side should be about 75 and the warm side 82 degrees. The basking spot should be right at 90 degrees. You also really need to get a UVB fluorescent. Heat can be supplied with a regular light bulb (which also emits UVA). Simply adjust the distance and wattage until you get the proper temperature range.

Go to a garden supply store and get either organic potting soil (without Perlite or fertilizer) or organic compost for your substrate. Please read the caresheet.

Toxicneon, if you ever need anything about anoles you can always ask me too. Just pm me or email me. emails in my profile

Draceana (fake bamboo kind) dont exactly thrive in shallow soil but they work good in water too... a cup of water and the roots will be fine... and why cant you put the plant in a pot?

are you sure they are male/female?

i use ecoearth in my anole tank and organic potting soil is really good too
