yea yea yea yea ve read all the threads seeing as they have the same habitat and the same diet and my tank is huuuge and they all have there own niches in the tank there is no problem with it my lizards bask and eat during the day and my frogs sleep and at night my frogs eat and roam and it goes on and on just like in the wild there is no mating problems with the anoles they get on with thre lives every day with no trouble ive researched this thing high and low and its been this way for over year now they have grown alot and are quite healthy the anoles and frogs

you researched huh? did you research about black spots behind the eyes on a anole lizard? on the second pic most people will say that that anole looks happy because its green, but if u look closely behind the eyes its a little dark which indicates stress. too much stress can kill the lizard. but hey i ain’t you so do whatever u want.

To each his own. Unfortunately, the one sho suffers a shortened lifespan is the Anole.

People who start out mixing species will usually continue to do so regardless of any advice. They ask the question to justify what they are doing. Unfortunately, the Anoles suffer from a reduction in lifespan when sharing an enclosure with another species.

How have you fixed the problem, Fisherman? I can only hope you separated the species. Its best not to mix species due to parasites and illneses. This includes a creature becoming ill from stress.

You may have claimed to research all three but apparently not the effects they’d have on each other. The fact that the frogs are nocturnal and the anoles are diurnal means your frogs will be keeping your lizards up at night, and your lizards will be keeping your frogs up during the day.

If your tank is huge and they each have their own niche, why is there a frog and a brown anole in the first picture? Coolguy is also right, that’s postorbital spots we’re seeing on the green anole, a sign of being stressed.

Encounter with other species can be stressful, but you keep them together because it’s less expensive and they’re pretty, regardless of the long-term effects. "In the wild" they are not all Bambi creatures of fun and songs and friendship. In the wild these species would be trying to avoid each other.

Besides frogs need a wetter environment, don’t they? And while green anoles are arboreal, brown anoles often scamper along the ground. Too much moisture can cause fungal infections. "Animals from different areas or habitats have differing immunities to parasites and infectious diseases. Therefore, one species may harbor a bug that it can carry with no ill-effects. However, if that bug (be it a parasite, virus or bacteria) is introduced to a species with no natural immunity, the result can be devastating." -article

That’s a green anole,it’s just brown at the moment.
I think this guy is just going to be like most other people. He thinks he’s right and you can mix species because "they’re friends" or "his tank is big".You can try to keep persuading him but I don’t think it’s going to do much good.I think the most we can hope for is that he learns from this when he gets a couple hundred dollars in vet bills because his lizards got some kind of parasite from an amphibian.
