Question about the female and her eggs?
i think mine little girl laid her 1 or 2 eggs last night. we finally found some organic compost, and m son changed their tank again yesterday. well i caught her digging, we have the natural reptile bark on just 1 end of the tank on top of the compost and she was under a few pieces ot that digging and when i came back about 20 min. later it looked as if she had moved a piece or 2 over the hole she had dug. she was digging with her front feet though. and i know when turtles lay eggs they dig with their back feet. so i am not sure but she looks a little thinner but i had put 4 crickets in there also. and she could have eaten 1 of them and thats why she doesn’t look to skinny. but today i moved those 2 pieces of bark out of the way to see if i could see a egg, and when i took my hand out of the tank she ran straight over there and just kept looking. so i thought she maybe be checking to see if it was still there. that’s what i was wondering do they guard their eggs? and are they protective of them?

Question about the female and her eggs? Female Anoles use their snout and front legs to dig a hole and bury their eggs. No, the don’t guard them. Once they are buried the parents have no further interaction with them. She was probably interested in what you were doing.
For example, I feed my Anoles from the same corner of the enclosure. When they see something in that corner they respond as if it was a food item and immediately become curious.

Question about the female and her eggs? something else. do they dig and lay at the same time or will they dig and maybe come back later and lay their eggs. and i did notice when she was digging she was using her snout. i am not going to incubate the egss either, so if i was to uncover the dirt a little to see if there is a egg will it keep it from hatching or will it be ok to look and see if there is 1 there? will she lay all eggs in the same place also or digg new spots for any other eggs she might lay?

Question about the female and her eggs? Often, they dig "trial holes". They usually dig a hole, turn around and drop the egg in it, then cover everything up. They don’t use the same area but since space is confined in an enclosure, the eggs may end up relatively close together.

Question about the female and her eggs? well it must have been a trial hole because i looked yesterday where i saw her digging and no egg. but she has to have laid 1 somewhere in there because she is thinner. but i am not going to incubate any ways so i’m not going to tear the tank apart to look lol. i guess i will wait until i see little ones running around to see if they was even fertile.
