Confused They will mate but not produce fertile eggs, They are genetically incompatible. The best way is to wait until they are asleep at night or look when they are belly-to-the-glass on the side of the enclosure.

Confused
You can tell a female anole apart from a male anole by the dewlap on the male’s throat. Females may have a small flap on their throat but in general have a much smaller and skinnier head and neck then a male, they are also smaller built in most cases

Confused Here we go yet again! Unfortunately, sexing Anoles on the basis of a dewlap is unreliable. Both sexes have dewlaps and, although the female’s is usually smaller, that is not always the case. That is particularly true in immature specimens of both sexes, A male Anole will have a pair of enlarged postanal scales and/or a hemipenile bulge at the base of the tail (a mature male will have both, an immature male will just have the scales). If it has either, it is a male. If it has neither, it is a female.

Confused There’s also a thread with pictures to help determine what the postanal scales look like. Link I’ve always found it helpful.

Confused
Well these anoles are mating without a shadow of a dought.the bahama anole is the male and the green anole is the female. my boyfriend got these animals and does not take proper care of them. so i took over. Ive learned a lot about anoles in the past few weeks and have really started to enjoy them now that i understand more about them. Im just hoping that it is true that these two can not reproduce together because as much as i enjoy them i dont think that i am ready for any babies.

Confused How long have you had the female? Female Anoles can store sperm for up to 7 months. If you haven’t had her for longer than that, she may still produce eggs from a previous mating.

Confused
We got Them both last October. but like i said i never really took notice to them until resently. Now I know more about them then my bf doese. This web site has helped me a lot. My bf wanted them and I did not but the past couple of months I have had to feed them and turn their lights on in the morning and their lights off at night. so I preety much adopted them from him. I have grown to really like them.

Confused Yes. I would suggest getting some pupae from a biological supply/feeder website and letting them emerge in the enclosure. The Anoles will eat them.

Confused Flies don’t eat Anoles. Fly pupae are immobile and the adult flies emerge from them. The Anoles will eat them as they emerge. Put 10-12 pupae in a container in the enclosure every other day. Try Carolina Biological for a few hundred or Oregon Feeder insects for a few thousand. They can be stored in the door of the refrigerator,
