Turning green again i wrote i think it was last night or the night befoer that the new green female ( i hope ) turned green again like she was in the pet store when i bought her. she still is a far cry from being as bright green as our other 2 but i noticed again last night she went to green again and it seem to be that when the male saw her moving around in her cage he came to the tree branch that’s in his tank and flare his dew flap out and this 1 just bobs her head. but it’s like she likes to see him and she turns green. they have never hit the side of the tanks like they was going after each other. so i am hoping she is a she. but i wonder if the 2 females will fight when or if i finally get to intrudce her to their tank. i have read that the females are also protective of her territory to other females.

Turning green again why would you not turn of the lights? a photoperiod of 12 to 14 hours is very important.

Turning green again There is no color combination in Green Anloles that will allow them to turn red. Anoles need a dark period to sleep.

Turning green again Green Anoles have three strata of chromatophores - blue, yellow, and brown. Please tell me what combination (or absence) of any of these colors will produce red or orange. The only red coloration that they have is in their dewlap - none at all in their skin.
Brown Anoles are entirely another matter.

Turning green again Daddysgirl, what color has your new anole mostly been? Dark brown, or light brown? The latter is fine. If she’s mostly been dark brown, you may want to review her setup (I assume you have her quarantined from the other anoles, since she’s new, correct?) and possibly hide her from view from the other anoles, and see if that helps.
Also, if you’re still having trouble sexing her, read this post, it’s very helpful and has images: Link
