 Yellow dropped her babies this morning...

My smaller yellow female had seven healthy babies this morning. This is her first litter and all seems well with mom and the little ones. They look great and are not too nippy for newborns. Hopefully the extremely docile temperaments of the parents will show up in these offspring. Some will be available once acclimated and consistently feeding on rodents. Take a look...

Some of the babies will eventually be for sale. I do not let babies go until they are well established and eating consistently on rodents. This can sometimes be a real challenge with newborn anacondas so I cannot tell you exactly when they will be available.

Sorry I missed you asking about that earlier. It’s sort of a difficult question to answer. The number of live young varies greatly depending upon age, size, weight, and conditions during gestation. I believe the record is 54 young for a yellow, but usually around 30 would be considered a very large litter. I would say the average would be somewhere around 18 for normal adult females. But that’s just my guess. There is also a huge variation in neonate size within a single litter. Some newborns can be as much as three times the size of another litter mate.

Hello there i have a female 6 foot yellow anaconda not that tame but i dont have alot of experience with her i have big burms and retics but i want a baby anaconda to start working with it while young would you be open to a trade for a few baby’s for my female you can work with her she is not that bad please let me know.

Thanks very much to all of you for your interest. As mentioned above in this post the babies will not be available for several few weeks as I do not part with them until well acclimated and feeding on rodents. I have not sexed them yet as I do not want to stress them since they are only 12 days old. All but one has shed it’s first shed and two have taken meals. They all appear to be in excellent shape and are doing what baby snakes do.

Once they each have fed a couple times I will sex them and let everyone know what is available. I prefer to start them on a handling schedule so I can learn the individual temperaments and be able to relay this information to potential new owners. (It’s always nice to really know what you’re getting, don’t you think? )

Prices will vary, but will range between $150 and $250 (plus shipping) depending on size, color, and temperament.

Hi Deron,

lovely to see your success with the babies. Gorgeous kids, and they all, parents and babies, look so good and healthy. Well done!!! You lucky guy... My condas are fine, im still getting it all together with building them bigger tank, soon all the fun starts.. Ive recently had much success with introducing my snakes to the public, ie taking corns to a school, people go completely crazy, want to hadle them, kids go balistic. Very rewarding experience.

Finally got the baby yellows all sexed. Four males and three females in the litter. I’m holding back a pair for myself but the other five are ready to go. They all show the promise of good temperaments and have eaten four meals now. Thanks to everyone who has shown interested and support in this litter.
