 Horny Toads

Hiya everyone, I am from Austin ,Texas and when I was a young girl the woods and fields behind house were scattered with them"horny toads" and tree lizards as well-(they resembled hornys but had longer bods and tails), alas, nowadays only see the anoles ,scorps, and rattlers...an occasional tortoise.
Also there were these slick striped lizards-we called them racing lizards (they would speed across the asphalt on driveways).
real
fast.
Are the horny toads endangered? or grimace exstinct ?
shame on us,
if they are
they were absolutely the tits man
